My take
Why I use it
Google runs quietly behind a lot of SVD Online: Google Calendar drives the social media posting schedule that n8n reads from, and Google Analytics 4 feeds into my weekly automated reporting. It's not one single tool so much as infrastructure I don't think about until something breaks.
Breakdown
Pros & cons
✓ What I like
- •Google Calendar makes scheduling automations trivial via its API
- •Free tier covers everything I need for a one-person business
- •Reliable uptime, I've never had an outage affect a workflow
- •n8n has first-class nodes for most Google services
✗ What to watch out for
- •Google Analytics' interface is a lot for what I actually need from it
- •Occasional API quota limits if a workflow runs too often
Review
My full review
A chunk of SVD Online runs on Google in the background without it ever being the "main" tool. Social media posts are scheduled in Google Calendar, tagged with what to post and where, and n8n reads that calendar three times a week to actually publish. Google Analytics 4 quietly feeds into a weekly report that gets summarised and emailed to me every Monday.
None of this is glamorous, it's infrastructure, not a product I'd tell someone to go sign up for on its own. But the free tier covers everything a one-person business needs, and n8n's Google integrations are solid enough that I rarely think about this layer at all, which is exactly what I want from it.
If you're already automating with n8n, odds are Google shows up somewhere in your stack too, even if it's not the tool you'd lead with.
